Scrawny to Brawny is a fitness competition series concept currently in development. As Production Coordinator, I supported development production for the project, coordinating logistics, travel, documentation, and crew operations from prep through filming.

What’s the moment things went sideways?
Since this was still in development, the moving target was the concept itself. The format kept evolving as we pitched it, so we had to stay flexible and rework plans around new notes.
A crew or cast story that still gets told
Our last day of filming was a lot of fun. We filmed in a park, where we built an obstacle course for the contestants to run through one more time before we announced a winner. It was a great summer day, and since this was my first proof of concept project and my first job outside of Dancing with the Stars, it was a rewarding moment to see it come together from start to finish in a completely different kind of competition. The feeling of accomplishment among the crew was apparent, and it made for a fun way to spend the summer.
What would a viewer never guess?
How much work goes into a show before it is ever picked up. We were building out format, budget, and logistics for a concept that had not been greenlit yet, which meant planning for a show that might change shape at any point.
What were you actually running day to day?
I supported the development team with research, budgeting, and logistics planning as we worked to shape the concept into something a network would pick up.
What are you proudest of on this one?
Being part of shaping a show from its earliest concept stage, before it even had a green light, gave me a real appreciation for how much groundwork goes into development.
